My Darkest Days Rethinks Breast Cancer with Kramer Guitars
It’s no secret that My Darkest Days LOVES women’s breasts. Just take a look at their new video for “Casual Sex”, the first single from their sophomore album Sick and Twisted Affair. Now they want you to love them as much as they do by joining them in their “Boobies Campaign” in support of Rethink Breast Cancer.
Guitarist Sal Costa is proudly showing off his new custom-made Kramer Pink Nite-V guitar on stage (painted in breast cancer pink with the Rethink Breast Cancer logo), bringing awareness to the forward thinking breast cancer charity.
“Cancer is something that no human being should ever have to face” says Costa. “My grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago, and thankfully due to awareness, she survived. I am lucky enough to still have her in my life. There needs to be more survivors and we need to find a cure."
“A giant part of making it in the music business for me was so that I would be able to stand on a larger platform with a larger voice, and be able to help those in need,” Costa continues. "I decided to start my journey by hooking up with Rethink Breast Cancer and Kramer Guitars. We can never forget the power and abilities we have as human beings. We can make a difference. We can make a change. We can find a cure. And I just want to be a part of that.”
“The one thing we like doing more than custom guitars is doing custom guitars for a great cause” says Kramer Project Manager, Kevin Bebout. “When Sal approached us about working on this campaign we were stoked -- especially for a Pink V! From the color, the guitar, the band and the campaign as a whole, we couldn’t be more proud to be a part of helping a great organization like Rethink Breast Cancer.”
Sal will be rocking his custom Pink Kramer Nite-V guitar every night on the current tour with Nickelback, Bush, and Seether, and at the end of the tour all of the bands will sign the guitar, which will then be put up for auction in support of Rethink’s vital education, awareness, support and research programs. In addition, each night on the tour, two fans who check in on CrowdStream will win a meet and greet with the band and take photos with Sal and the guitar.
Launched in 2001, Rethink Breast Cancer is the first-ever Canadian breast cancer charity to bring bold, relevant awareness to the under-40 crowd, fostering a new generation of young and influential breast cancer supporters; infusing sass and style in the cause; and most importantly, respond to the unique needs of women going through it. Kramer Guitars emerged in the 1970s as one of the first successful upstarts to challenge
Gibson and Fender as a worldwide leader in manufacturing quality electric guitars and basses. Kramer developed a global reputation for creating unique guitars with custom features including the sophisticated Floyd Rose TM tremolo system. A generation of hard rock and metal guitarists inspired by Van Halen and including Richie Sambora, Tom Morello, Vivian Campbell, and Mick Mars, helped to make Kramer a leader in providing everyday players the experience of a “custom” designed guitar with specialty pickups and hardware, starting an industry-wide trend that continues today. www.kramerguitars.com.
